Abstract
The transition resistance during single-phase ground fault refers to the resistance of the medium that connects the transmission line to the ground. By measuring the transion resistance, the cause of the fault can be determined, supporting the fault handling of the transmission line. This article proposed a transition resistance calculation method based on the waveforms obtained from the fault recorders equipped at two sides of the transmission line. The influence of the amplitude and phase difference of the electric current provided by the power supply of both sides are qualitatively analyzed. Based on the error analysis, the proposed method is further simplified. Finally, a simulation model is built up to verify the proposed method.
