Abstract
Wind power systems play a vital role within renewable energy microgrid systems. The establishment of precise wind power models and the investigation of their dynamic characteristics are of paramount importance in enhancing wind power efficiency. Due to the dynamic nature of wind speed variations, the stability of power generation in wind turbines is often compromised. To address this issue and achieve maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for wind power systems, this study utilized Simulink to simulate the
dynamic characteristics of wind power systems. By integrating a Boost converter with Perturbation and Observation method (P&O), this model leveraged the voltage boosting capabilities of the Boost converter and the disturbance rejection capabilities of P&O method for MPPT control. Experimental results showed rapid responses in wind energy utilization coefficient, output voltage, and output power to changing wind speeds, leading to improved energy conversion efficiency in wind power systems.
